Brands Up This Week

Google: the new Apple?

MLB (Major League Baseball): Season opened with (per Barron’s) the largest increase in ticket prices since 2009. New York Yankees – who may finish in last place in the AL East — not surprisingly lead with the priciest premium tickets.  Their local counterpart, the Mets – who may similarly finish in last place in the NL East – have lesser prices but are amongst the highest.  (What was the last time – did it ever occur – when both NY teams finished in the cellar?)

Arsenal/Tomas Rosicky (Midfielder scores twice)

Brands Down This Week

Non-farm payrolls:  Despite equity market performance, the US economy is lethargic. Until corporates have confidence in many areas – regulation, taxes, Europe  — hiring will be dismal.

BOJ (Bank of Japan): Shocking and awesome or Bernanke, King and Draghi helicopter east.

Lululemon: I see you!

North Korea (this will be an ongoing story with a bad ending)
